Bryant “Corky” Messner is running as a Republican for the U.S. Senate in New Hampshire.
He is a political newcomer, self-made millionaire, and retired military veteran. He is
challenging Democratic incumbent Jeanne Shaheen.
Messner is a 1979 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He served in the
U.S. Army as a Ranger and Infantry Company Commander. He is the founder of a law firm,
Messner Reeves LLP.
Messner promises to “fight back against the Democrats’ growing socialist agenda and unify
the Republican Party here in New Hampshire.” He wants to withdraw all troops from the
Middle East. On healthcare, he wants to let the free market “bring down the cost” of
prescription drugs. When asked about climate change, Messner questioned whether we
“really know how much of an impact man has had on climate change.” He described
attributing the causes of natural disasters as climate related as a “silly political way.” He
also believes that the Green New Deal is an attempt by the left to “grab control of our
lives.” He promises to make the Trump tax cuts for the wealthy permanent and, at the
same time, he is concerned that “our $22 trillion national debt threatens our continued
prosperity and national security.”
Just 40 days after entering the race, Corky Messner’s U.S. Senate campaign has nearly
$1.2 million cash on hand thanks to a $1 million infusion from the candidate.
